The tubes I'm sure you're refering to are VENT Tubes NOT overflow tubes. The tubes vent into the carb and establish atmosphic pressure inside the float bowl, when you open the throttle manifold pressure drops and a small amount of raw fuel is "sucked" into the cylinder through a series of small passages in the carb casting and all this adds up to an accelorator pump. The free ends of the two tubes MUST be positioned in the small boxlike area where the two rear frame members are welded together with a small plate and join the top frame member. Simply put the free ends of the two tubes in this area.
